The municipio of Bolondrón is one of the twenty two municipios in the province of Matanzas, Cuba. It is located toward the center of the province. This municipio covers a surface of 594 square kilometers.

Population: The population of this municipio in 1953 was 11,398 persons.

The barrios of Bolondrón in 1943 were: Bolondrón, Galeón, Gonzalo, Güira de Macurijes, Las Piedras, Lucía, Manuel Alvarez, Punta Brava, Tienda Nueva and Zapata.
