The municipio of Pedro Betancourt is one of the twenty two municipios in the province of Matanzas, Cuba. It is located toward the center of the province. This municipio covers a surface of 733 square kilometers.

Population: The population of this municipio in 1953 was 20,121 persons.

The barrios of Pedro Betancourt in 1943 were: Cabecera Norte, Cabecera Sur, Ciego, Linche, Navajas, Platanal, Punta Brava, Torriente and Tramojos.
